Psidium Guajava, The Common Guava is common tropical fruits cultivated and enjoyed in many tropical and subtropical regions. Guavas are rich in dietary fiber and vitamin C. Having a generally broad, low-calorie profile of essential nutrients, a single common guava (Psidium guajava) fruit contains about four times the amount of Vitamin C as an orange. However, nutrient content varies across Guava cultivars.
BIORG Guava Process
Growing BIORG Guava is a Jumbo fruit plant origin from Thailand, is a lot more than the things that just meet the eyes. It’s a whole long process of around 6 years that requires focus, dedication and most importantly, patience. Have a look at the process.
Preparation of Land:
This is the basic and first step but important one though. We are required to prepare a good land for producing fruit like Jumbo Guava by continuously adding “Organic Manure – GOVERDAAN, Vermi Compost, De-Composer, Sugar Mill Press Mud”. For this, for almost 2 years, “Green Manure- Dhaincha (Sesbnia Aculata), SUNNHEMP (Crotalaria Juncea), Urad Daal (Black Gram)” and other green cereals are grown on the land. These are all green manure crops that helps in improving land’s fertilization capacity. These crops are used for improving soil structure and water holding capacity. It also helps in making soil manure rich and mineral ready. These crops can be cultivated in any season and and any soil, also can be used as fodder. So this is the beginning of land preparation for our main act i.e., Jumbo Guava.
Nurturing and Nourishing:
Nurturing the trees and nourishing it go hand to hand. Let’s understand it step by step:
Drip Technology: Irrigation method that is used for our small plants is “Drip Technology”. Firstly, Water from the canal is reserved in a nearby pond. Water is then provided through Drip Technology in which water is provided drop by drop to the plants.
Tree Height: Over the time, plants turns into the trees. Trees heights are maintained around 6-7 feet high. Purpose of it is to properly taking care of trees which is not possible when it attains its full height. Also plucking the fruit and flower will be very troublesome if we don’t do so. For this, extra branches are cut down periodically.
One Branch One Guava: We follow the principle of One Branch One Guava. Best of the small guava is left on the branch only. Others are plucked while very small in size. This helps in providing all the nutrition of that branch to that single fruit only. One Jumbo Guava tree holds up to 50 fruits at max. This is done willingly in order to achieve desired size and weight of our guava.
Prevention from Pests & Insects: We have tried to keep the authenticity of fruit as authentic as it can be. We don’t use any kind of Chemical Pesticides or fertilizers. We have prepared a Neem Spray that protects the fruit from fungus and bacteria. During the period, when the size of the fruit is like a small lemon, neem spray is sprayed on the fruits and tree for 3 days regularly
Ready for Delivery:
After 3 days Neem Spray Process, on 4th day a high quality net is wrapped around the fruit. On the next day, Anti-Fogging polythene with a waterproof paper on it, is wrapped over the net to provide second layer of protection. These wrappings protect the fruits from direct sunlight, germs and pests, bare hands as well.
In this way, fruit is kept safe and 100% untouched. Nutrition is kept done through Drip Technology, now more than before as fruits need more nutrition now as per their size.
When fruit is grown, around 1 kg, and branches start to bend and almost touch the ground. Bamboo support is provided, so that fruits don’t touch the ground. This is done to avoid fungus and dust from the ground.
Thereafter, after receiving the order, Fruit is cut through from the branch. After packing, BIORG Guava is dispatched within 12 hours
